Attributes of God

God is good.

The Lord is good to all, and His mercy is over all that He has made.

God is gracious.

Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; our God is merciful.

Psalm 116:5

God is faithful (keeping his promises).

If we are faithless, He remains faithful — for He cannot deny Himself.

God is eternal (without end).

To the King of all ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

1 Timothy 1:17

God is immutable (He and His promises do not change).

For I the Lord do not change; therefore you O children of Jacob, are not consumed.

Malachi 3:6

God is all-knowing (omniscient).

O Lord, You have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You discern my thoughts from afar. You search our my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.

Psalm 139:1-4

God is present everywhere (omnipresent)

Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord.

Jeremiah 23:24

God is holy (sinless and hating sin).

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!

Isaiah 6:3

God is just (fair and impartial).

The Rock, His work is perfect, for all His ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is He.

God is love.

Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

1 John 4:8

  1. God has everything that is good. It’s difficult to phantom God’s attributes and characteristics. God is too big to know him in his entire majesty. Nice post. Thanks for sharing.
