Verse of the Week 8/24/17

At 31 years old, I spent a good portion of my adult life without a solid relationship with God. That’s not to say that I wasn’t a believer – I certainly believed that I came from the Almighty and that He was there if only I’d make an effort to call out to Him. I just rarely called out to Him. If things were going well in my life, He and I didn’t speak. It’s taken longer than I’d like to admit to but I see the error in that thinking now. I’m making an effort, with His help of course, to change how our relationship and our communication go. I’m making an effort to call on Him in good times and bad, to ask for guidance for the little or the big things, to just talk…

This verse is a good reminder that we need only put in the effort to seek Him, to communicate with Him, to receive His guidance. I don’t know about y’all, but I definitely need the reminder!

Verse of the week

For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
Matthew 7:8
