31 Bible Verses

In honor of my 31st birthday, August 9th, I thought I’d dive into a few blog entries that use 31 as it’s theme. As the blog title implies, this particular entry will be 31 bible verses that I want to share with my readers. Though I may eventually do a blog post on themed verses, this entry is simply a selection of some of my favorites.

Now for the verses, in no particular order

31 Bible Verses

 

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness does not overcome it. -John 1:5

If our minds are ruled by the spirit, we will have life and peace. -Romans 8:6

For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. -Matthew 7:8

Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin. -Zechariah 4:10

Humble yourself, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. -1 Peter 5:6-7

“For I know the plans I have for you” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” -Jeremiah 29:11

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. -Proverbs 4:23

For the spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline. -2 Timothy 1:7

What good is it for someone to gain the whole world yet forfeit their soul? -Mark 8:36

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. -1 John 1:9
